What is it?
The Spotted Box is a box of family-oriented, eco-friendly samples from independent crafters, all packaged together and sent directly to you! Designed with the young family in mind, these handmade samples are focused on children and their mothers.

What does it have in it?
The Spotted Box can include samples like: Bath and body, doublers, candles, bookmarks, candy, stationery, bibs, wool food, toys, paper arts, wipes, wool wash, tarts, mama pads, dish clothes, teas, food, dog treats, gift certificates, magnets, pens, hair products, jewelry and more! Each month it changes depending on the crafting participants.

How is it sold?
The Spotted Boxes go on sale the 15th of every month at the Hyena Cart store at www.hyenacart.com/TheSpottedBox and at Etsy at www.thespottedbox.etsy.com . The cost for a large box with 25+ items is $22 including shipping. The mini-boxes sell for $13 for 12 samples including shipping. This covers the labor, packing materials, advertising, cart maintenance etc. Each month a certain amount of boxes go to full-share participating vendors and the rest go on sale on the public.

How do I get my stuff in the box?
Its easy, simply email Tory at tory@thespottedbox.com and I’ll get you started. You need to contribute a minimum of 20 samples and can give as much as 60 or more. Including your samples is free and you get a spot on the cart listing your samples. For the listing we need a banner ad or photo that is 125 by 125 pixels. Your listing includes your ad and any text you want to include.

What do I get out of it?
Exposure! You get samples sent to potential customers eager to try your product, the ad on the cart and exposure to motivated buyers on Hyena Cart, Etsy and beyond. Your listing on the Hyena Cart stays on the site for 4 months, giving you a fun and unique advertisement. And if you send in 60 samples you get a box of your own!

When are the samples due?
We want to get them on the first of each month.

What are the rules?
All Bath, Body and Food products must be labeled with all ingredients. Soap samples must be a minimum of .5 ounce. All scented items MUST be double-bagged to contain the aroma. Only 3 gift certificates are allowed per monthly box, so tell me ASAP if you want to be one of them. Gift Certificates need to be an actual amount of any purchase, coupons or percentages off are not allowed except as a promotion with samples. A minimum of $5.00 per gift certificate is required. A minimum purchase is not allowed. Paper items such as stationary and notecards must include an envelope to make it a usable samples. Photo prints, seed paper without an envelope, gift wrap, business card envelopes and postcards are not allowed. Promotional items can be put in with your regular samples, items such as pens, calenders, discount codes and free shipping codes, business magnets etc. do not count as samples but can be included in the box. All late packages will be pushed into the next available spot.

Can Congos participate?
Congos can contribute, member store can split the samples amongst themselves (like 6 members contribute 10 samples each), the congo gets to do whatever they'd like with the box. Vendors are allowed to participate as both an individual store and a Congo in the same box.
